Lead to Life & Permaculture Action Network invite you to join us for a “Permaculture Action Day” of ecological regeneration, workshops, music and radical joy!

THE SITE HAS CHANGED! Join us in Atlanta from 10am - 5pm on Saturday, April 7th for a Permaculture Action Day at @ MENA'S FARM.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Lead to Life & Permaculture Action Network invite you to join us for a “Permaculture Action Day” of ecological regeneration, workshops, music and radical joy. For this occasion, Rawtools & James Brenner have reimagined and forged an arsenal of garden tools made from weapons. Folks from across Atlanta are invited to come together to work with the Earth utilizing these ceremonial tools.

This event is free, and all are welcome to attend! Come by and enjoy a day of hands-on regenerative projects, music, shared food, workshops, meeting new people, and taking action as a community. at a local Black-owned and operated farm run by Lady Locavore Filomena!

This day serves as an act of service and kindness to humanity and the more-than-human world as part of the MLK 50 Forward events happening across Atlanta, honoring the radical vision of Dr. King 50 years after his assassination. We will work with the soil together and live a practice of reparations through supporting Black farmers.

ABOUT MENA'S FARM AND OUR DAY TOGETHER:

Mena's Farm is tended by Filomena Andrade, a mother of three, grandmother, and lifetime farmer who arrived in Atlanta in 2007. She moved to Bankhead from Cape Verde, West Africa. Her farm is a thriving paradise of plants she built by hand on a run-down street in the heart of Atlanta's Bankhead neighborhood.

Bring your friends and come prepared to learn new skills, build food-producing systems, and have a dirty, good time. This event is FREE and all are welcome to attend! We’ll have a simple lunch spread and water available for everyone throughout the day, but please bring a potluck dish or beverage to contribute if you like! There will also be music and workshops throughout the day.

Projects will include:
- roofing the chicken coop
-building garden beds
-creating a retaining wall
-planting trees using shovels made from melted down weapons
-weeding, and more!

A full schedule of music and workshops for the Permaculture Action Day is coming soon. Please reach out to us if you want to get involved at Contact@PermacultureAction.org
